COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO
Council -Manager Form of Government
Special Meeting - 1:30 P.M.
Present: Council members Bowling; Fead, Gray, Preble, Reeves,
Russell and Wilkinson.
Staff present: Brunton, March and Lewis.
Election of Mayor and Assistant Mayor
Mayor Preble called the meeting to order stating that all the Council
was present. She called for nominations for the office of Mayor.
Councilman Bowling nominated Councilman Fead. The nomination was
seconded by Councilman Russell. The Chairman put the question which
was unanimously adopted. Yeas: Council members Bowling, Fead, Gray,
Preble, Reeves, Russell and Wilkinson. Nays: None.
Councilwoman Gray made a motion, seconded by Councilwoman Reeves, that
the Council elect Councilman, Fead as Mayor by acclimation. Yeas:
Council members Bowling, Gray, Preble, Reeves, Russell and Wilkinson.
Nays: None.
The Chairman next said nominations were needed for Assistant Mayor.
Councilwoman Reeves nominated Councilwoman Nancy Gray for Assistant
Mayor. Councilman Bowling. seconded the nomination. Yeas: Council.
members Bowling, Fead, Gray, Preble, Reeves, Russell and Wilkinson.
Councilman Fead made a motion, seconded by Councilman Bowling, that
nominations cease and Councilwoman Gray be elected as Vice Mayor.
Yeas: Council members Bowling, Fead, Gray, Preble, Reeves, Russell
and Wilkinson. Nays: None.
Councilwoman Gray made a motion, seconded by Councilman Fead, that
Council direct the City Attorney to draw up a resolution commending
former Mayor Preble for having done a fine job over the past year.
Yeas: Council members Bowling, Fead, Gray, Preble, Reeves, Russell
and Wilkinson. Nays: None.
Former Mayor Preble made a statement of her pleasure and honor in '
serving the City as Mayor.

City Clerk Verna Lewis read the Ordinance at length..
Councilman Bowling made a motion, seconded by Councilman Wilkinson, to
adopt Ordinance No. 26, 1974 on first reading. Yeas: Council members
Bowling, Fead, Gray, Preble, Russell and Wilkinson. Nays: Council-
woman Reeves.

00 City Manager Brunton stated the Administration has been negotiating

with CSU on the utility contract. The representatives of CSU have
� requested further discussion on this item.
The recommendation of the Administration was that this item be referred
back to the Administration and that it be placed on the May 2, 1974
agenda.
Councilman Russell made a motion, seconded by Councilwoman Reeves, to
reconsider the previous action of the Council on this item. Yeas:
Council members Bowling, Fead, Gray, Preble, Reeves, Russell and
Wilkinson. Nays: None.
Councilwoman Reeves made a motion, seconded by Councilman Wilkinson,
to table consideration on this item to the first meeting in May.
Yeas: Council members Bowling, Fead, Gray, Preble, Reeves, Russell
and Wilkinson. Nays:.. None.
Adjournment
Mayor Fead declared the meeting adjourned.
