COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO
Council - Manager Form of Government
Special Meeting - 1:00 P.M.
A special meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins
was held on Tuesday, August 22, 1978, at 1:00 p.m. in the
Council Chambers in the City of Fort Collins City Hall.
Roll call was answered by the following Councilmembers
Bloom, Bowling, Gray, St. Croix, Suinn, and Wilkinson.
Absent: Councilmember Russell.
Staff Members Present: Arnold, Lanspery, Wood, Dallow, Goodwin
Griep, Krajicek, Chance, Bingman, Hays
Parsons, Woods, Deagle and Lewis.
Bid Awarded to Northern Telecom for City Telephone Systems.
Following is the City Manager's memorandum on this item:
"We received proposals for a City telephone system from
Mountain Bell, Northern Telecom, and United Business Systems.
Staff analyzed these proposals on the basis of cost, install-
ation, maintenance, and reliability. Copies of our cost
analysis sheets are attached.
On the basis of cost-effectiveness, Northern Telecom is our
best alternative.
We recommend that Council award the bid to Northern Telecom
and authorize us to enter into a contract agreement with
them."
City Manager Arnold presented an analysis of costs of the three
proposals.
Representatives of Mountain Bell and Northern Telecom were
present and responded to Council inquiries regarding the two
proposals.

Councilman
and authorize

them. Yeas: Councilmembers
Bloom, Bowling,
Gray, St. Croix,
Suinn, and Wilkinson. Nays:
None.
THE MOTION CARRIED
There being no further business to come before the Council,
Mayor Suinn declared the meeting adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
