HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES-08/11/1981-AdjournedAugust 11, 1981 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO Council -Manager Form of Government Adjourned Meeting - 1:00 p.m. A meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins was held on Tuesday, August 11, 1981, at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the City of fort Collins City Hall. Roll call was answered by the following Council - members: Cassell, Elliott, Horak, Knezovich, Reeves and Wilmarth. Absent: None Staff Members Present: Arnold, Liley, Lanspery, Krajicek. Swearing In Ceremony for E. John Clarke The oath of office for Mr. Clarke was administered by City Clerk, Wanda Krajicek. Councilmember Clark introduced his family and then took his seat as a Councilmember. Other Business Mayor Wilmarth noted he felt that with the new Councilmembers now on board, there was a need to allow more time for informal discussion. He suggested Council return to the 5:30 p.m. meeting time for a period of time. Councilmember Cassell made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Knezovich, to adjourn this meeting to 5:30 p.m. on August 18 because the Ordinance will need to be amended to make this change permanently. Councilmember Horak spoke against the motion and suggested meeting infor- mally from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and continuing to begin the regular meetings at 6:30 p.m. This would still allow the audience to attend the whole meeting uninterrupted. Councilmember Reeves suggested changing the times entirely by meeting for dinner from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m, and beginning the regular meetings at 7:00 p.m. with Citizen Participation. The vote on the motion to adjourn the meeting to 5:30 p.m. on August 18th was as follows: Yeas: Councilmembers Cassell, Elliott and Wilmarth. ' Nays: Councilmembers Clarke, Horak, Knezovich and Reeves. -315 THE MOTION FAILED. Executive Session Authorized August 11, 1981 Councilmember Reeves made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Cassell, to adjourn into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel matters - the City Manager's and City Attorney's evaluations. Yeas: Councilmembers Cassell, Clarke, Elliott, Horak, Knezovich, Reeves and Wilmarth. Nays: None. THE MOTION CARRIED. At the conclusion of the Executive Session the meeting adjourned at 3:30 p.m. ATTEST: Mayor City clerk
