HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES-04/12/1983-AdjournedADJOURNED MEETING 1 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO April 12, 1983 10:00 a.m. An adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins was held on Tuesday, April 12, 1983, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers in the City of Fort Collins City Hall. Roll call was answered by the following Council members: Cassell, Clarke, Elliott, Horak, Knezovich, Miller, and Wilmarth. Staff Members Present: Arnold, Meitl,`Huisjen, Krajicek, Lewis. Also Present: . Councilmembers Elect Kelly Ohlson and Barbara Rutstein. Councilmember Wilmarth made parting comments regarding his four years as a Councilmember since 1979 and thanked staff for their support and assis- tance. He pointed out the average age of the new Council will be approxi- mately 35 with the average time spent on Council at less than two years. Swearing -In of Councilmembers City Clerk Wanda Krajicek administered the oath of office to new Council - members John Clarke, Kelly Ohlson, and Barbara Rutstein. The new Council - members then took their seats at the Council desk. Mayor Cassell, on behalf of the Council:, thanked Norm Miller for his short, but well done, term. He then chronicled some of the main accomplishments during his mayoral term. Election of Officers Mayor Cassell asked for nominations for the office of Mayor. Councilmember Horak made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Clarke, to nominate Assistant Mayor John Knezovich for the office of Mayor. Yeas: Councilmembers Cassell, Clarke, Elliott, Horak, Ohlson, and Rutstein. Nays: None. (Councilmember Knezovich abstained) THE MOTION CARRIED. I 1 April 12, 1983 Mayor Knezovich then asked for nominations for the office of Assistant Mayor. Councilmember Cassell made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Rutstein, to nominate Councilmember Gerry Horak for the office of Assistant Mayor. Yeas: Councilmembers Cassell, Clarke, Elliott, Horak, Knezovich, Ohlson, and Rutstein. Nays: None. THE MOTION CARRIED. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilmember Clarke made a motion, seconded by "Councilmember Elliott, to adjourn the meeting.
