D. 1914 the following proceedings were had. Present Commissioners Armitage and Ed�rards, City Atty Frank J. Annis . Absent Commissioner Clammer. In the absence of President Commissioner Armitage presided. On motion the reading of the minutes of the meetings held on April 20-27 May 4-11 were approved. Cn moticn the claim of Wi lliam Ruddick was referred until a later meeting. On motion the petition of S. P. Webster for a sidewalk to ordered. in Block 143 was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works report next meeting. Moved by commissioner Edwards and seconded by commissioner Armitage that the Mayor be instructed to issue a Special Police commission to Ed L. Burril at request of the Merchants association to server without pay. The roil -eing called resulted as follows. Ayes Ccmmissioner Armitage, Edwards, Nays none Abset Commissioner Clammer. The President declared the motion adopted. On motion Commissioners Armitage and Edwards with the assistance of City Attorney Frank J. Annis, were instructed to select a suitable place for a city market. Commissioner Edwards presented the following resolution and moved its adoption, same seconded by commissioner Armitage. Resolution. Whereas under ordinance 6 1914 respecting licenses for cement contractors, applicants are delayed on -account of securing surety bonds and have contracts for work which re- quire immediate attention, Therefore be it Resolved by the City Council that all persons desiring a license under said ordinance be required to fila a written application with the City Clerk and deposit the license fee required and upon filing such application and making such deposit upon approval of the City Engineer the city may issue a temporary permit which will authorize the holder to engage tin cement construction as authorized by said ordinance until a bond is procured filed and approved by the City Council not later than the first regular meeting of the Council on June 1st, 1914. Moved by commissioner Armitage and seconded by commissioner Edwards that the following ordinance be passed on first reading and ceublino sh same 1914 Amending to law. Amending Section 7 of Ordinance Noll, 1890 Relating to street Grades and As Amended by Ordinance No* 3 1896. The ows.
