Present: Hon Jesse Harris Mayor Aldermen, Brownell, Brunton Eves, Knemeyer, McIntosh, Quinn Salladin, Sperr Absent, Aldermen, Cummings, Hedke. On motion duly Feeonded and carried the minutes of the previous meetings were approved as read. On motion duly seconded and when put to a vote carried the matter of the b'ileings on the Cache La Poudre River for Power Site purposes was ordered placed on file. Moved by Alderman Eves and seconded by aldermen Salladin That t:ie bond of Robert L•indenmeier be accepted. ON On motion duly second and carried the bill of Pershing and titsworth and elso the bill of Mr. Robert McF Doble were laid on the table, There being no written complaints or abjections filed with the City Clerk in regards the construction of a sanitary Sewer to be kbown as Sewer District # 32 the following form of Ordinance was introduced read and moved tb' Aldermen McIntosh and seconded by Alderman Brownell that the following Ordi- nance do now pass on first reading and being ordered published according to Law. The Mayor then me.de the following apointments as members of the different Committees , of whit were to conduct the affairs of the City. Water Works Committee Abbott, Watson, Eves. Whereas, the term of office of all appointive offices of the City of For t Collins have expired as provided by lew, and Whereas, the City Council of seid City is desirous of consolidating cer- tain departments of public works under one head for the purpose of general su- pervision and more efficient administration of the City affairs, and an ordi- nance has been introduced and is now pending before said Council for said purpose and Whereas, it becomes the duty of said Council to make certain temporary ap- pointments connected with said departments of public works pending the passage Records of the City Council, Day 191 381 and adoption of sated ordinance; Therefore be it Resolved, by the City Council of the City of Fort Collins that the following named persons whose appointments tam the respective offices have expired, as provided by law, shall continue in their respective offices until the 26th day of May, 1913, and no longer, and receive the compensation per month heretofore paid them for such services, to -wit: Caretaker Filter Plant, head of water works, Otto Schmohl Assistant Water Superintendent, John Cameron; Pumping Station, 0. C. Pinkham; City Scavenger, James Spencer; City Stand Pipe, Perry Learnard; Sexton, Grandview Cemetery, M. M. Jones. City Dump, Frgnk Martz. Janitor, S. W. Wade; and be it further Resolved, that the continuance in office and receiving compensation therefor by by the perscne eb W e named shall be upon the express condition, made in writing end signed by them respectively, that the term of service is for the period herein limited without any further claims or demands of any kind whatsoever, any ordinance or law to the contrary notwithstanding; and be it further Resolved, that the Committee on Streets, Alleys, and Bridges have charge and i, Supervision of the streets, alleys and bridges during the period herein set forth, and that the Committee on Public Buildings and Grounds have charge and supervision of the building inspection during said period. Thereupon the Mayor requested the council to vote by ballot upon the men named in the foregoing resolution with results as follows For the office of City Marshall Mr, A, C. Baker receiving 11 votes was duly elected to the office of City Marshall Records of the City Council, Day 191 383 A ballot being taken upon the office of Night and day police service Mr. J. C. Bal received 11 votes, whereupon he was duly declared elected to the position of Night and Day Police Service, A ballot being taken upon the office of Night Police Mr, James H. Johns received 11 votes , whereupon he was duly declared elected to the office of Night Piilice. A ballot being taken on the office of City Attorney, Me. F. J, Annis received 11 votes, whereupon he was duly declared to be elected to the o.fice of City Attorney A ballot being taken upon the office of City Physician, Dr, Bert A. Gooding reeei 11 votes, whereupon he was duly declared to be elected to the office of City Physician. A be.11ot being taken upon the office of City Engineer, Mr, Emmett C. McAnelly received 11 votes, whereupon he was duly declared to be elected to the office of City Engineer. A ballot being teken upon the office of Driver fo the Fire Department, Mr. Robert Cameron received 11 votes, whereupon he was duly declared to be elected to the office of Driver of Fire Department. A ballot being taken upon the office of Assistant Driver fo the Fire Department �I Mr. E. W. Crim received 11 votes, whereupon he was duly ,:eelared to be elected to the i office of Assistant driver of the Fire Department. it A ballot being taken upon the office of Police Magistrate, Mr. L. D. Phelos receive 11 vo`ses, whereupon he was duly declared to be elected to the office of Police Magistra A ballot being taken upon the office of Pure Food Inspector, Mr. George H. Glover received 11 votes. whereupon he was duly declared to be elected to the office of Pure Foid Inspector. On motion duly seconded and when put to a vote was carried the matter of present- ing the ordinance calling a special election for the member of the Charter Convention was left to the Committee on Law and Ordinance to report next meeting. On motion duly seconded and when put to a vote carried M. M. Sy. Clair was duly elected to the position of Mayor Pro Tem. Whereupon the City Clerk was instructed to cast a ba lot fot Mr. M. Y. St. Clair as Mayor Pro. Tem. on motion duly seconded and when put to a vote varied the Metter of James Whedbee requesting the return of his $ 100,00 cheek in re Pine St. Sewer was left to the Committee on Law end ordinance to report next meeting. on motion duly seconded and carried and when put to a vote the matter of the repairs over the old City Suply Ditch was left to the Law and Ordinance Committee and City Atty. to report next meeting. on motion duly seconded end when put to a vote carried the matter of the Porter in re damages caused from break in Pipe Line was left to the Water Committee to report next regular meeting. On motion duly seconded and whe put to a vote carried the matter of the Pebshing & Titsworth Bill and C. A. Carlton Bi".1 was left to the Finance Committee and City Atty to report next meeting. 384 Records Of the City Council, Day 191 On motion duly seconded and when put to a vote carried, the matter of the College Avenue Improvement District was left to the Street Committee to report next meeting.
