Planning and Zoning Board Recommendation:
June 7, 1988
The Planning and Zoning Board at its April 25 meeting voted 5-0 for approval of the annexation and requested zoning as part of the Board's
Consent Agenda."
Councilmember Kirkpatrick withdrew from discussion and vote on this item due to a perceived conflict of interest.
Council member Winokur made a motion, seconded by Council member Maxey, to adopt Resolution 88-95. Yeas: Councilmembers Estrada, Horak, Mabry, Maxey, Stoner, and Winokur .. Nays: None. (Councilmember Kirkpatrick withdrawn)
THE MOTION CARRIED.
Counc i 1 member Mabry made a motion, seconded by Counc i 1 member Horak, to adopt Ordinance No. 64, 1988 on Second Reading. Yeas: Councilmembers Estrada, Horak, Mabry, Maxey, Stoner, and Winokur. Nays: None. (Councilmember Kirkpatrick withdrawn)

Public Hearing Regarding Proposed Changes to the City Discrimination Code to Add Sexual Orientation as a Protected Class
Mayor Stoner stated the purpose of the public hearing was to receive input from the community on this issue, noting Council would not be taking formal action during this meeting. He stated any written comments submitted to Council, which were intended to be confidential, can no longer be considered confidential if submitted at the public hearing.

Mayor Stoner thanked those who spoke for their testimony and the manner in which the public hearing was conducted. He stated the intent was to schedule a work session in July .to receive staff input and to provide further direction to staff on how to proceed.
Council member Ki rkpatr·i ck stated she did not see a need for a work session, noting staff could provide additional information and answer questions outside of the work session format.
Council members Horak, Mabry, and Maxey agreed with Council member IKirkpatrick.
