HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL - PROCLAMATION - 09/04/2018 - FRONT RANGE COMMUNITY COLLEGE'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY CPROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Front Range Community College is the largest community college in Colorado, with more than 28,000 students on three campuses and online; and WHEREAS, FRCC has been enriching lives in the Fort Collins area through learning since the 1980s; and WHEREAS, the Larimer Campus offers a wide selection of academic classes for transfer and continuing education classes for personal and professional enrichment and offers outstanding career/technical programs that prepare students to work in more than 25 fields; and WHEREAS, the Larimer Campus is a strong partner with: • Colorado State University in higher education (as the number-one transfer institution for CSU); • Poudre School District for concurrent enrollment-including a unique partnership for career/technical training for high school students called Career Pathways; • Poudre River Library District for Harmony Library; • Local entrepreneurs through the Small Business Development Center; and • New and existing industries through customized training from the FRCC Corporate Solutions division; and WHEREAS, FRCC, its staff, faculty, students, and alumni add approximately $591 million in economic value to the Colorado economy annually with significant returns on investment for students, taxpayers, and society alike. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Wade Troxell, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby proclaim the fall of 2018 as FRONT RANGE COMMUNITY COLLEGE’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION to recognize the contributions and service that the FRCC brings to this community.
