Revenue from golf play in November was the lowest collection for November in the last 10 years. 3 STAFF REPORT 2018 Golf Survey Key Results • 577 Golfers Surveyed in 2018 • 38% played Collindale • 37% played at Southridge • 26% played at City Park Nine • 91% of golfers were satisfied or very satisfied with their round of golf. • 89% of golfers said that the golf courses were in good or excellent condition. • 74% of golfers said that the value of our green fees was good or excellent. 4 STAFF REPORT 2017 National Trends and Data National Golf Foundation Data from 2017 • 23.8 million golfers in 2017 (a 7%increase from 2016) • 19.5 million are “committed golfers” who play at least once a week. • 2.7 million junior golfers (11%) • 6.2 million young adult golfers (26%) • 5.8 million women (24%) • 4.3 million non-Caucasian (18%) • 3.6 million 65+ (15%) • 2,497 municipal courses in the USA (75% of all golf facilities are public) • National Average for 18 holes and a cart is $34 (City of Fort Collins is $48) 5 STAFF REPORT Working on 2109 • Recruit a Golf Manager for the Division • Municipal Golf Partnership with Loveland, Greeley and Fort Collins • Focus on youth and women golfers • Increase marketing for securing more golf tournaments • Increase social media and digital marketing efforts • Continue partnership with Colorado State University Athletics • Develop designs for irrigation system replacements at City Park Nine and SouthRidge Golf Courses. 6 STAFF REPORT Questions?
