RESOLUTION 2018-130
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION
TO BOB OVERBECK FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS
TO THE COMMUNITY AS A COUNCILMEMBER
WHEREAS, Bob Overbeck was elected as a City Councilmember on April 2, 2013, took
office on April 9, 2013, and has served for nearly six years on City Council; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Overbeck submitted a letter of resignation on Friday,
December 7, 2018, effective January 1, 2019, having been elected to serve as Larimer County
Assessor beginning on January 8, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Overbeck has served as the Council liaison to the Golf
Board, Human Relations Commission, Natural Resources Advisory Board, Parking Advisory
Board, Planning and Zoning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Downtown Development
Authority Alternate; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure Councilmember Overbeck has also served as the chair of
the Poudre Heritage Alliance Board and as a member of the Legislative Review Committee,
Election Code Committee, Colorado Municipal League Policy Committee, National League of
Cities’ Council for Race, Equity, and Leadership, Anti-Harassment Policy Development
Committee, Library Trustee Selection Committee, and as the North Front Range Metropolitan
Planning Council Alternate; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Overbeck has been a strong advocate for safe, clean, livable
neighborhoods and has demonstrated his commitment and consideration to the residents of Fort
Collins weighing social, environmental, and economic impacts in policy decisions, and seeking
positive solutions that position the community well for the future.
WHEREAS, Councilmember Overbeck was integral in the advancement of the
Broadband initiative, Climate Action Plan goals, and the improvement of the health of the
Poudre River and the City’s parks and natural areas through his seeking of collaborative and
innovative solutions; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Overbeck led the initiative to bring the Council for Race,
Equity, and Leadership training through the National League of Cities to Fort Collins to help
advance causes of equity and inclusivity in Fort Collins.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS that the City expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Bob Overbeck
for his service and contributions to the community as District 1 Councilmember.
