WHEREAS, KRFC makes great community radio that is local, noncommercial and
volunteer-powered; and
WHEREAS, KRFC provides the sharing of music, ideas, and information, and helps to
build common understanding and common values within the community; and
WHEREAS, KRFC connects community organizations, schools, and local governments
to their constituents; and
WHEREAS, KRFC provides people with the skills necessary for the creation, sharing,
and consumption of knowledge and ideas through community radio; and
WHEREAS, KRFC has moved back to its home in The Fort Collins Music District,
furthering its vision to be the voice of the community and the soundtrack of northern Colorado,
and creating a sense of place through locally focused radio programming.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Wade Troxell, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby
declare March 1, 2017 as
KRFC FORT COLLINS DAY
and ask the citizens of Fort Collins to recognize that KRFC plays a vital role in building our
community by encouraging conversations about our common interests, increasing discourse
around music and public affairs, fostering understanding of local cultures, and sharing
information to improve our lives.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of the City of Fort
Collins this 21st day of February, A.D. 2017.
