The purpose the program is to make grant moneys available on an annual basis to publicly-supported libraries, including public libraries,to enable them to obtain educational resources they would otherwise be unable to afford. To that end, the State of Colorado will receive the corresponding benefits of a better educated and informed population. Funding from the State Funding for Libraries Act was based on the library service population. On that basis, the State librarian, who administers the program, awarded the Fort Collins Public Library $32,542 to purchase materials.
