• Contiguity and Sequential Annexations
The State Statutes require that an annexation have at least one sixth of the
perimeter of the land being annexed touch existing city limits in order to be
eligible for annexation. Sequential annexations are used to get large areas of
land annexed at once. The concept is that the first piece has the required
minimum contiguity with the existing city limits and the moment the first piece i

annexed, the second piece then has it's required contiguity with the first piece,
and so on. The proposed Cathy Fromme and Coyote Ridge Annexations are
sequential annexations. The following table shows how each of the applications
achieve the required contiguity.
