RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends adoption of the Ordinance on Second Reading. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This Ordinance, which was unanimously adopted on First Reading on July 16, 2002, appropriates unanticipated revenue in the amount of$7,083 for restoration of the roof on the East Farm House at the Nix Farm, 1745 Hoffman Mill Road. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This Ordinance appropriates unanticipated revenue in the amount of$7,083 for restoration of the roof on the East Farm House at the Nix Farm, 1745 Hoffman Mill Road. The City of Fort Collins hasCnawar d a St cal d grant in 2002 by the Colorado Historical Society. The purp t is a of the E arm House at the Nix Farm using historic type wood shingles, and to install -roun period gutters on the house. State Historical Fund grants are available to public entities as applicants for the purpose of historic restoration of their public buildings. The grant is designed to help applicants to use historic type materials like wood shingles that can cost more than simply reroofing with modern materials. The City's role is to: (1)be the grant applicant for the project; (2)contract with the state to receive and administer the grant funds; (3)provide the cash match; (4) contract for the restoration; and(5) be responsible for the distribution of the grant and cash match funds. The grant management will be administered by the Advance Planning Department. The cost of this administration will be covered by the Natural Resources Department-Natural Areas Program cash match for the grant.
