PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS,the citizens of Fort Collins,Colorado strive to make water conservation efforts
in their homes and at work; and
WHEREAS, Fort Collins Utilities offers a variety of water conservation programs and
services and educational tools to adults and youth; and
WHEREAS, the average home may waste up to 10,000 gallons of water every year due to
running toilets, dripping faucets and other leaks; and
WHEREAS, Fort Collins Utilities provides valuable community assets that contribute
substantially to the well-being of local citizens through water efficiency, customer service,
environmental protection, economic development and safety awareness.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Doug Hutchinson, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby
proclaim the week of March 14-20, 2011, as the first
FIX A LEAK WEEK
in Fort Collins to honor Fort Collins Utilities community members whose efforts to repair leaks have
both environmental and economic benefits.
