PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Hispanic community of Fort Collins has designated the week of May 1-8,
2011 to share its heritage and culture with the residents of Fort Collins and surrounding
communities; and
WHEREAS,Cinco de Mayo celebrates the diversity of the Fort Collins community and has
become an integral part of the community; and
WHEREAS,the Cinco de Mayo celebration provides cultural awareness and knowledge to
the community through the music, arts, food, and educational experiences offered at the 2011 Fort
Collins Cinco De Mayo Festival at Civic Center Park in Fort Collins on May 7 and May 8, 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Karen Weitkunat, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby
proclaim May 1-8, 2011 as
THE CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION
in Fort Collins and urge all residents to participate in the scheduled events.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of the City of Fort
Collins this 19th day of April, A.D. 2011.
