OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION
TO DAVID ROY FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO
THE COMMUNITY AS A COUNCILMEMBER
WHEREAS, David Roy was appointed as a City Councilmember on June 25, 2002, to fill a Council
vacancy, was elected on April 8, 2003 and again on April 3, 2007, and has served more than two full terms
on City Council, through April 12, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Roy has served as the Council liaison to the Affordable Housing
Board, Air Quality Board, Art in Public Places Board, Citizen Review Board, Cultural Resources Board,
Golf Board, Human Relations Commission, Landmark Preservation Commission, Natural Resources
Advisory Board, Telecommunications Board, Water Board, and the Women’s Commission; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure Councilmember Roy has also served as a member of the City
Council’s Health and Safety Committee and the Ethics Review Board; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Roy has ably represented the City on the Larimer County Open Lands
Advisory Board and as an alternate to the North College Avenue Urban Renewal Citizen Advisory Group;
and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Roy has been a staunch advocate of open space protection, has been
a strong supporter of the Mason Corridor Project, and was instrumental in the adoption of the Climate
Action Plan; and
WHEREAS, providing service to his constituents, improving neighborhoods and standing strong on
environmental issues have been hallmarks of Councilmember Roy’s service to this city; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Roy has worked to sustain the vibrancy of the City’s downtown and
actively supported the revitalization of the North College area; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Roy has shown great passion and commitment to this community
through his continued efforts to improve the quality of life for all Fort Collins residents by improving air
quality, providing public transportation, including Dial-A-Ride services, and protection of historic
neighborhoods in the downtown area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to David Roy for his service and
contributions to the community as District 6 Councilmember.
Passed and adopted at a special meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins this 12th day of
April, A.D. 2011.
