FINANCIAL/ ECONOMIC IMPACTS The $10,000 grant will be used to pay ARO leaders, trairnstafff andlpurchase adaptive sports equipment to support the development of Paralympic SportlCl- , ub Fort Collins. It will allow ARO to purchase expensive equipment, such as handcycles, sled hockey skates, sport wheelchairs, goalball equipment etc., that would otherwise be cost prohibitive. The adaptive equipment is essential for the successful participation in recreational activities by people with physical disabilities. Staff training opportunities by US Paralympic staff and coaches will lead to quality, sustainable program offerings in the community. Networking and partnerships developed with other Paralympic Sport Clubs, VA Hospitals and outpatient clinics will enhance ARO's ability to better serve the growing number of injured veterans entering back into the community as well as provide outreach to disabled vets that may be unaware of their options.
