PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS,the City of Fort Collins is now reaffirming the commitment offreedom of choice
in housing; and
WHEREAS, the thirty-fourth anniversary of the National Fair Housing Law, Title VII of the
Civil Rights Act of 1968, is an occasion to rededicate ourselves to the commitment to Fair Housing
for all citizens; and
WHEREAS,April has traditionally been designated as Fair Housing Month in the United
States.
NOW, THEREFORE, 1, Ray Martinez, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby
proclaim the month of April2002 as
FAIR HOUSING MONTH
. and urge all citizens to support and endorse the practice of Fair Housing personally and in the
marketplace, and to recognize that discrimination that limits the rights of any of our citizens, limits
the rights of all other citizens.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of the City of Fort
Collins this 16th day of April, A.D. 2002.
