PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS,Elks Lodge#804 in the city ofFort Collins has a long history ofimproving City
Park through financial contributions and volunteer projects, including the original construction of
City Park Pool; and
WHEREAS, the Elks, in cooperation with the Wilkins Trust, have donated to the City,
$300,000 for the Sheldon Lake improvement project, which includes the construction by the Elks of
a large boardwalk at Sheldon Lake spanning around the outdoor pool, and also includes trail and
landscaping improvements along the west and south shores of Sheldon Lake; and
WHEREAS,the Elks have volunteered hundreds of hours and provided a great deal ofskill
in constructing the Sheldon Lake boardwalk; and
WHEREAS, the boardwalk and shore improvements will greatly enhance the beauty of
Sheldon Lake and City Park and willgreatly enhance the community's enjoyment ofthese areas;and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to recognize and thank Elks Lodge #804 for its generous
contributions to the community and for continuing its long involvement with beautifying and
improving City Park and Sheldon Lake.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ray Martinez, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby
recognize the Fort Collins Elks Lodge #804 for its generous contributions to the Fort Collins
community.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of the City of Fort
