RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends adoption of the Ordinance on Second Reading. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This Ordinance, which was unanimously adopted on First Reading on June 4, 2002, appropriates $10,000 in unanticipated grant revenue from the State of Colorado, which will be used to conduct a sustainable design seminar for local investors, developers, engineers and architects. Ar EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This Ordinance appropriates $10,000 in unanticipated grant revenue from the State of Colorado, which will be used to conduct a sustainable design seminar for local investors, developers, engineers and architects. BACKGROUND: k�" " Fy The Natural Resources Department applied for a Pollution Prevention Advisory Board grant in October 2001 and was awarded the grant in February 2002. The project proposed in the grant is a workshop to educate local developers, landowners, builders, architects and engineers about green building design and construction. The goal of the workshop effort is to increase the use of sustainable design elements in construction projects in Fort Collins, which would reduce energy use, encourage the purchase of recycled products and increase pollution prevention. Of the total $10,000, $5500 will be billed by July 1, 2002, and the remaining $4500 will be 49 billed in December 2002, upon completion of the project. The Ordinance appropriates the full award amount. The project is scheduled for completion by December 2002.
