PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Program began in October 1992; and
WHEREAS, the Natural Areas Program is celebrating its loth anniversary during the month of
October 2002 with many special events; and
WHEREAS, the Natural Areas Program protects and enhances lands with natural values in a
manner that promotes ecological integrity and protects wildlife habitat; and
WHEREAS, the Natural Areas Program provides educational and recreational opportunities on
natural areas to the citizens of Fort Collins and Larimer County; and
WHEREAS,the Natural Areas Program protects and enhances lands through conservation,public
improvement, land-use planning, management, maintenance, education, enforcement, and private land
. stewardship.
NOW, THEREFORE,I, Ray Martinez, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby proclaim the
month of October 2002 as
NATURAL AREAS PROGRAM MONTH
in the city of Fort Collins.
