HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL - PROCLAMATION - 10/01/2002 - PROCLAMATION PROCLAIMING OCTOBER 5, 2002 AS FRONT Mayor City of Fort Collins PROCLAMATION WHEREAS,public education is a community enterprise and everyone in the community has a stake in the mission of educating all of the community's citizens; and WHEREAS, a goal of higher education is to ensure that everyone in the community has an opportunity for lifelong learning; and WHEREAS, Front Range Community College is celebrating its thirty-fifth anniversary; and WHEREAS, more than 4,000 Fort Collins residents attend Front Range Community College every year; and WHEREAS, more than 250 Poudre School District students are enrolled in technical programs at Front Range Community College every year; and WHEREAS,hundreds more Fort Collins residemspursue continuing education courses forpersonal enrichment every year; and • WHEREAS,scores of Fort Collins businesses, industries, and governmental agencies are training partners of Front Range Community College; and WHEREAS, the citizens of the city of Fort Collins enjoy a beneficial partnership with Front Range Community College at the Harmony Library. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ray Martinez, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby proclaim October 5, 2002 as FRONT RANGE COMMUNITY COLLEGE DAY in the city of Fort Collins and urge all Fort Collins residents to recognize and support Front Range Community College for its efforts to enhance lives through learning and to create communitypartnerships and coalitions in support of our common goals of educational excellence and diversity.
