PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS,our community has a continuing sense of gratitude to those disabled veterans
who did so much to preserve the American way of life; and
WHEREAS,the Disabled American Veterans(DAV)organization has worked exclusively
for the welfare of our disabled veterans; and
WHEREAS, Fort Collins Chapter No. 5 of the DAV has been established to carry on this
work in our community; and
WHEREAS, the DAV offers free service to disabled veterans and their families in filing
claims for government benefits and assists disabled veterans with medical, employment and other
problems; and
WHEREAS, the DAV meets emergency situations which may arise in the family of a
disabled veteran as well as provides transportation to VA hospitals in Denver and Cheyenne.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Doug Hutchinson, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby
proclaim May 19, 2007 as
FORGET-ME-NOT DAY
in the City of Fort Collins in support of the DAV's annual campaign to raise funds for disabled
veterans in the community.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of the City of Fort
Collins this 15th day of May, A.D. 2007.
