First Reading of Ordinance No. 127, 2010, Amending Section 27-38 of the City Code Relating to the Licensing of
Arborists.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY ,---- In /7
Currently, arborist licenses expire one year afterfthey are issued:This results in renewal times and notices being sent
throughout the year. The purpose of this jge\\\is toke all licenses co Ll ue due for renewal on the same date each
year.
BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION
Historically, the Forestry Division has issued an arborist license to each company that meet the licensing requirements
for the City. A licensing fee of$25 is charged to each company at the time of issuance. The license currently is valid
for a one-year period from date of issue. After the initial license is issued, tracking and sending out renewal
information is not efficient. Staff believes it would be more effective and efficient to cause every license to be renewed
by January 31 of each year, begin ning;iEZ2011.UPY
