Second Reading of Ordinance No. 101, 2009,Appropriating Unanticipated Revenue in the Cultural Services Fund to
be Used for the Construction of the New Museum/Discovery Science Center Joint Facility.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City has received a donation of $88,966 from the Isabelle (Judy) Arnold Trust designated for the Fort Collins
Museum. This Ordinance, unanimously adopted on First Reading on October 20, 2009, appropriates that donation
in the Building on Basics (BOB) Fort Collins Museum/Discovery Science Center Joint Facility Project.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adoption of the Ordinance on Second Reading.

BACKGROUND
On September 1,2009,the Museum received written notice that it had been designated as beneficiary
of the Isabelle(Judy)Arnold Trust`totaling%$88;966-fMs. Arnold-was a volunteer and friend of the

The Museum is requesting that Council apprprrooprri'ate the$88,966 into the Building on Basics(BOB)
project for use in the New Museum Facility Project.
ORDINANCE NO. 101, 2009
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE
CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND FOR THE
FORT COLLINS MUSEUM/DISCOVERY SCIENCE CENTER PROJECT
WHEREAS, Ms. Isabelle (Judy) Arnold was a volunteer and friend of the Fort Collins
Museum for many years; and
WHEREAS,on September 1,2009,the City was notified that the Isabelle(Judy)Arnold Trust
had designated the Fort Collins Museum as a beneficiary of its Trust and would receive a
disbursement of$88,966; and
WHEREAS,to honor Ms.Arnold's past and present contributions to the Fort Collins Museum
the City Council wishes to appropriate these funds for the Fort Collins Museum/Discovery Science
Center Project; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 9, of the City Charter permits the City Council to make
supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year, provided that the total
amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous appropriations for that
fiscal year, does not exceed the current estimate of actual and anticipated revenues to be received
during the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, City staff has determined that the appropriation of the revenue as described
herein will not cause the total amount appropriated in the Capital Projects Fund to exceed the current
estimate of actual and anticipated revenues to be received in that fund during any fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from unanticipated revenue in the Capital
Projects Fund the sum of EIGHTY-EIGHT THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SIXTY-SIX DOLLARS
($88,966) to be used for the Building on Basics - Fort Collins Museum/Discover Science Center
Project.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this 20th day of
October, A.D. 2009, and to be presented for final passage on th r day of November, A.D. 2009.
