Growth is inevitable in the Front Range. We have to keep finding creative ways to strike a balance. I believe qrowth can be managed and the economy kept vital without sacrificing the environment. I think whole new industries are going to spring up in America which involve renewable energy, recycling, maintaining soil and water quality, etc. which will point us in the direction of sustainability and a healthy economy . p) Water quality and maintaining the river it flows through the city. I think the parks and trails along the river are a great example of wise use of this resource. We need to continue to preserve the river habitat for wildlife as well as make it a place people can enjoy. Of course, water quality issues go far bevond the river and we will see increasing _pressure on our water resources in the future. We need to manage water for growth as well. 3) Continued acquisition of Open Space, natural areas and greenbelts. I really like the way the City has worked with the County and other entities to develop opportunities to create these natural areas which are so important to wildlife and people as well.
