PROCLAMATION
City of Fort Collins
WHEREAS, the need for health and human service delivery in the Fort Collins
community continues to increase; and
WHEREAS, United Way of Latimer County strives to insure that our community's
important human service needs of self-sufficiency, affordable housing and support for
vulnerable populations are met in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust;and
WHEREAS, the 60 partner agencies of United Way of Latimer County reach out to
people in need of health and human services; and
WHEREAS, the partnership role between the community at large and private non-
profit organizations is broadening to include an emphasis on community solutions,
charitable giving and volunteer contributions;and
WHEREAS, the historic roles of United Way of Latimer County include providing
leadership in identifying and prioritizing health and human service issues in Latimer County,
and conducting major fundraising campaigns to assist in funding solutions for those needs in
our communities; and
WHEREAS,this year's fundraising campaign officially kicks off today, September 5,
2006 and continues through January 31, 2007
NOW THEREFORE, I, Doug Hutchinson, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do
hereby proclaim September 5,2006 as the kick off for
United Way of Larimer County's
Fundraising Campaign
in Fort Collins and I urge all citizens of Latimer County to become actively involved in
supporting United Way,through its campaign and volunteer initiatives.
