PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS,Dance Express has been a non-profit organization for 20 years helping people
with disabilities express themselves through dance; and
WHEREAS, Mary Elizabeth Lenahan has dedicated the past 20 years to being the artistic
and executive director of Dance Express; and
WHEREAS,Mary Elizabeth Lenahan is an inspiration and mentor to numerous people with
disabilities_by teaching them the love of dance; and
WHEREAS,Mary Elizabeth Lenahan has been a leader in integrating people of all abilities
in the joy of performing dance, and
WHEREAS, Mary Elizabeth Lenahan continues to inspire and lead the community of Fort
Collins in seeing the beauty and ability in all persons and helping them reach their full potential,and
WHEREAS, a studio concert will be held May 24, 2009 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Masonic
Temple to celebrate Dance Express's 20 years and Mary Elizabeth Lenahan's leadership.
NOW THEREFORE, I Doug Hutchinson, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby
proclaim May 24, 2009 as
MARY ELIZABETH LENAHAN DAY
in Fort Collins and invite the citizens of our community to share in this celebration.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of the City of Fort
Collins this 19th day of May, A.D. 2009.
