PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) in Fort Collins has made many
contributions to help members of the community who are suffering from neuromuscular diseases;
and
WHEREAS, the city wants to recognize the valuable contribution citizens with disabilities
make to this community; and
WHEREAS, during the year of 2006, Joseph Akmakjian will serve as the Muscular
Dystrophy Association's Fort Collins Ambassador whose mission will be to focus upon disability
awareness; and
WHEREAS, Fort Collins is interested in the welfare of and improving the quality of life for
citizens with disabilities in our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Doug Hutchinson, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby
recognize Joseph Akmakjian as the 2006 Fort Collins Goodwill Ambassador for the Muscular
Dystrophy Association and encourage the citizens of our community to recognize and support all
persons with disabilities.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of the City of Fort
