PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Fort Collins community supports our local military personnel; and
WHEREAS, the Alpha Tau Kappa Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa based at Front Range
Community College's Lorimer Campus is participating in Operation ShoeBox dedicated to
providing care packages and other support to our troops serving overseas; and
WHEREAS, members of the Alpha Tau Kappa Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa have
recruited local merchants, organizations, and individuals to donate, decorate and fill shoe boxes
to send to our troops; and
WHEREAS, the children at Creative Kids Corner in Wellington have been working very
hard to decorate boxes and collect donated items which will sent to our local troops at the end of
March.
NOW, THEREFORE,I, Doug Hutchinson, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby
proclaim the month of March 2006 as
OPERATION SHOEBOX MONTH
and ask the citizens of Fort Collins to contribute items to help send a taste of home to our local
troops serving overseas.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF,I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of the City of Fort
