PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, good character is a critical personal quality needed for lasting success; and
WHEREAS, the residents of Fort Collins desire to build upon our heritage and make our
community a place where families are strong, homes and streets are safe, education is effective,
business is productive, neighbors care about one another, and citizens are free to make wise
choices for their lives and families; and
WHEREAS, our community further recognizes that the health of our community depends
upon each citizen acting justly in their daily decisions; and
WHEREAS, faith provides hope for the future and sustains individuals, communities,
and nations during difficult times.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Doug Hutchinson, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby
proclaim the character quality of
FAITH
"Confidence that actions rooted in good character will yield
the best outcome, even when I cannot see how."
as the community of character focus for the month of September 2005 in the city of Fort Collins.
