HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL - PROCLAMATION - 09/20/2005 - PROCLAMATION PROCLAIMING SEPTEMBER 21-OCTOBER 21, Mayor PROCLAMATION City of Fort Collins WHEREAS, homecoming is a time foralumni to return to their almamater to celebrate, reminisce and rekindle friendships and for students to show support and pride for their school; and WHEREAS, the community homecoming parade and other homecoming events are unique in bringing together members of the Fort Collins family; and WHEREAS, the community homecoming parade has grown every year since 1994, and as Fort Collins grows, the community homecoming parade remains one of our few community traditions; and WHEREAS, bringing Colorado State University, Front Range Community College and Poudre School District students together provides a wonderful experience because our diversity makes us a stronger, more interesting community; and WHEREAS, this year's theme of"Community Homecoming 2005: We're Better Together"allows schools,businesses and organizations across the community to showcase how working togethermakes Fort Collins a unique place and brings us together as a community; and WHEREAS, the students of Colorado State University, Poudre School District and Front Range Community College along with the City of Fort Collins, Downtown Business Association, Veterans' Activities Committee and Fort Collins Senior Center all work together on these community-wide events. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Doug Hutchinson, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby proclaim September 21 through October 21, 2005 as the annual COMMUNITY HOMECOMING CELEBRATION and encourage citizens to attend the various events planned for Community Homecoming Month.
