City of Fort Collins PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, individuals who volunteer to help others cope with illnesses, overcome hardships
and barriers, adjust to social changes and fu fill their potential are the unrecognized, unsung heroes
of our society; and
WHEREAS, Yue Xu, was recently named Distinguished Finalist in the Prudential Spirit
of Community Awards program; and
WHEREAS, Yue Xu started a club called R.EA.C.H. (Respecting Everyone Achieves
Confidence and Hope), and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this club is to promote diversity awareness in the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, William P. Smith, Mayor Pro Tern of the City of Fort Collins,
do hereby proclaim April 7, 1998 as
YUE XU
• PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY RECOGNITION DAY
in the city of Fort Collins and ask the community to recognize Yue for her outstanding volunteer
contribution to our community.
