RECOMMENDATION: The Cultural Resources Board and staff recommend adoption of the Ordinance on Second Reading. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Ordinance No. 23, 1999,which was unanimously adopted on First Reading on February 16, 1999, amends Section 2-203 of the City Code. The Board has recommended amending the Code adding a new function of the Cultural Resources Board to recognize a role for the Board in cooperating with community and citizen groups in promoting cultural development in Fort Collins. RECOMMENDATION: The Cultural Resources Board and staff recommend adoption ofthe Ordinance on First Reading. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Cultural Resources Board is requesting an amendment to Section 2-203 of the City Code to add an additional function. The Board has recommended this change to recognize a role for the Board in cooperating with communiL3*yaud citizen groups mpriotiiiticultural development in Fort Collins. The proposed additional function is worded,aslfbllows: a (5) To assist, advise`and make-recommendations to the Director of Cultural Services and Facilities and the City Council in cooperating on community projects with other civic organizations and with individuals interested in the city's cultural programs and facilities, in order to promote awareness and understanding of,and appreciation for,the value of cultural resources in the community. At its October 22, 1998,and January 27, 1999,meetings,the Cultural Resources Board considered a proposal to add an additional-fanction-to`Section 2-203 of the-City Code and recommended language substantially the sanae as stated:above�
