Resolution 99-124 Making an Appointment to the Policy Committee of the Northern Colorado
Communities 1-25 Corridor Plan.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends adoption of the Resolution.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The preparation of the Northern Colorado Communities 1-25 Corridor Plan is underway - the
consultants have been selected and a Staff Technical Team has been meeting. One of the next steps
10 is to form a Policy Committee composed of one elected official from each participating jurisdiction
(Weld and Latimer counties, and the municipalities of Berthoud, Johnstown, Windsor, Loveland,
Timnath and Fort Collins). This Resolution, if adopted, appoints Councilmember Mike Byrne to
the Policy Committee.
BACKGROUND:
The Policy Committee will be scheduled to meet every 2-3 months throughout the course of the
eighteen-month planning process, and will provide strategic policy direction to the Staff Technical
Team regarding various components of the Plan. The Policy Committee will also serve in a liaison
role to other elected officials in their jurisdictions. The Policy Committee may decide to expand its
membership to include 1 or 4 private sector liaison members and/or elected officials from the State
Legislature as well.
The first meeting of the Policy Committee will be held in November. The exact time and place has
yet to be determined. Each of the participating jurisdictions is currently in the process of selecting
their representatives.

• OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE POLICY COMMITTEE OF THE
NORTHERN COLORADO COMMUNITIES I-25 CORRIDOR PLAN
WHEREAS,a necessary element of the Northem Colorado Communities I-25 Corridor Plan
is the establishment of a "Policy Committee", which committee is to be composed of one elected
official from each participating jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the Policy Committee will provide strategic policy direction to the Staff
Technical Team,and Policy Committee members will also serve as liaisons to other elected officials
in their respective jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS,the Policy Committee may be later expanded to include several private sector
members and/or members of the Colorado General Assembly; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has determined that Councilmember
Mike Byrne should be appointed to serve on the aforesaid Policy Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that Councilmember Mike Byrne be, and hereby is, appointed to serve on the Policy
. Committee of the Northern Colorado Communities I-25 Corridor Plan.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 19th day of October,
