Staff recommends adoption of the Ordinance on Second Reading.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
For the past four years, Fort Collins Build A Generation has applied for grant money from the
Division of Criminal Justice. Fort Collins Build A Generation is part of a state-wide initiative
designed to reduce youth violence, delinquency, school drop-out, pregnancy and substance abuse.
Ordinance No. 43, 1999, was unanimously adopted on First Reading on March 16, 1999 and
appropriates unanticipated revenue for Build A Generation.

The funds that come to the Fort Collins community to implement this project are federal Title V
funds and receipt of these funds is contingent upon compliance with applicable federal laws. Total
funding to be received by the City of Fort Collins for fiscal year July 1, 1998 - June 30, 1999 is
$51,552.
