PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Hispanic community of Fort Collins has designated the week of May 1-5
to share its heritage and culture with the residents of Fort Collins and surrounding communities;
and
WHEREAS, Cineo de Mayo celebrates the diversity of the Fort Collins community and
has become an integral part of the community; and
WHEREAS, through the celebration the festivities provide cultural awareness and
knowledge to the community through music, arts,food, and educational ex-perience.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ray Martinez, Mayor of the Cite of Fort Collins, do hereby
proclaim the week of May 1-5, 1999 as
THE CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION
in the city of Fort Collins and urge all residents to participate in scheduled events.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set n y hand and the seal of the City of Fort
Collins this 20th day of April, A.D. 1999.
