HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL - PROCLAMATION - 03/16/1999 - PROCLAMATION PROCLAIMING MARCH 24, 1999 AS ASSET B Mayor PROCLAMATION City of Fort Collins WHEREAS,youth are important, they are our present and ourfuture; and WHEREAS, the Asset Building Coalition of Latmer County believes in the inherent worth of all children; and WHEREAS,youth with a high number of assets in their lives are more likely to become caring, competent, and compassionate individuals and are more likely to be protected from deficit behaviors and feelings; and WHEREAS, the Asset Building Coalition of Latimer believes all members of our community can make a positive impact on the youth of Latimer County, and WHEREAS, the Asset Building Coalition of Latimer County has been serving our community since January 1998 by empowering individuals to place positive youth development in the forefront of all aspects of community life. WHEREAS, the Asset Building Coalition of Latimer County is building our community values . . . one person at a time, and WHEREAS, the Asset Building Coalition of Latmer County is holding its second annual celebration in partnership with the Healthier Communities Coalition on March 24th at Fort Collins High School from 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. NOW, THEREFORE, I,Ann Azari, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby proclaim March 24, 1999 as ASSET BUILDERS AWARENESS DAY in the city of Fort Collins and urge all members of the community to recognize the contributions of asset building and the Asset Building Coalition within and surrounding Fort Collins.
