HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL - PROCLAMATION - 07/01/2008 - PROCLAMATION CELEBRATING THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF } PROCLAMATION Cityof Fort Collins WHEREAS, on October 11, 1890, the National Society of the Daughters of the American Resolution was officially organized by 18 women in Washington, DC; and WHEREAS, the Daughters of the American Revolution is a service organization made up of approximately 3,000 chapters in all 50 states and many foreign countries; and WHEREAS, on April 19, 1908, Cache la Poudre Chapter, NSDAR, was organized by 12 ladies in Fort Collins, Colorado; and WHEREAS, on July 4, 1908, Cache la Poudre Chapter, NSDAR, was granted its Charter; and WHEREAS, on July 4, 2008, Cache la Poudre Chapter,NSDAR, has 89 active members; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Doug Hutchinson, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby recognize 2008 as the 100th anniversary of the Cache la Poudre Chapter National Association of the Daughters of the American Revolution and ask the community to voice its appreciation to the members of Cache la Poudre Chapter for their efforts to preserve and share historical windows to our ancestors who selflessly served in the Revolutionary War, 1775 to 1783.
