PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins has developed the Poudre River Trail as a
recreational trail for the benefit of the community; and
WHEREAS, the success of the development of the City's trail system is often dependent
upon the cooperation and generosity of landowners; and
WHEREAS, Lafarge West, Inc. owns property in a key location along the Poudre River
Trail west of Taft Hill Road; and
WHEREAS, Lafarge West, Inc. has donated to the City of Fort Collins approximately
0.65 mile of right-of-way for the extension of the Poudre River Trail across its property for the
benefit of area citizens and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins wishes to acknowledge Lafarge West, Inc.for this
contribution and outstanding act of corporate citizenship which improves the health, welfare,
and quality of life of all area citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ray Martinez, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor
of the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, do hereby extend the City's deep appreciation to Lafarge
West, Inc.for its donation of right-of-way to the City of Fort Collins for the purpose of extending
the Poudre River Trail, which shall result in significant benefit to the citizens of Fort Collins and
the greater Lorimer County community in perpetuity.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of the City of Fort
Collins this 20th day of July, A.D. 2004.
