Resolution 2003-149 Making Appointments to Various Boards and Commissions
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adoption of the Resolution
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Vacancies currently exist on various boards commissions and authorities due to resignations of
board members and the expiration of terms of members Applications were solicited during
September Council received copies of the applications and Council teams interviewed applicants
during October and November
This Resolution makes 56 appointments to 25 boards and commissions Names of those individuals
recommended for appointment by each Council interview team have been inserted in the Resolution
In addition this Resolution affirms two Team Fort Collins appointments to the Youth Advisory
Board The applications are attached for these appointees since they are being recommended by
Team Fort Collins and did not go through the Council interview process

OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO VARIOUS BOARDS,
COMMISSIONS AND AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
WHEREAS,vacancies currently exist on various boards commissions,and authorities of the
City due to resignations from board members or the expiration of terms of members of the boards,
and
WHEREAS the City Council desires to make appointments to fill the vacancies which exist
on the various boards commissions and authorities
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows
Section 1 That the following named persons are hereby appointed as members of the boards
commissions and authorities hereinafter indicated with terms to begin immediately and to expire
as set forth after each name

ti Better ways to reach pre-teens and teens and their parents to let them know all
the activities that are available to kids so that they will have a safe and fun
place to go. A lot of people don't know about the Y A C or otherprograms
that are available
2) I think more kids would be interested in doing volunteer work but they don't
know how or where to go Maybe Y A B could help organize volunteer opportunities
and work at reaching interested kids This would be a good way to get kids to
feel a responsibility in the community and to feel better about themselves
3) The usual problems of drug and alcohol abuse, peer pressure and school violence
are big problems that are hard to get kids to understand, but they have to be
talked about
