HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL - PROCLAMATION - 05/06/1999 - PROCLAMATION PROCLAIMING MAY 6, 1999 AS MEMORY DAY Mayor City of Fort Collins PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the Alzheimer's Association was founded in 1980, and WHEREAS, the Alzheimer's Association is the only national voluntary health organization dedicated to researching a cure, cause, treatment, and prevention for Alzheimer's disease while providing support to families, caregivers and those individuals with the disease; and WHEREAS, the Alzheimer's Association is also proactive in lobbying for improved legislation surrounding health care issues; and WHEREAS,theAlzheimer'sAssociation,Rocky Mountain Chapter,Fort Collins and Weld County Offices serve over 3,000 individuals in Northern Colorado; and WHEREAS, the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association is sponsoring a full day of activities on May 6 to benefit the Alzheimer's Association and those affected by the disease; and . WHEREAS, a Golf Tournament, an Artists' Tea and an Art Auction will be held on May 6 with 100%of the profitfrom the tournament and auction going to help fund ongoing programs and services in Northern Colorado. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ray Martinez, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby proclaim May 6, 1999 as MEMORY DAY in the city of Fort Collins and urge the community to participate in the activities scheduled to help benefit this organization.
