HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL - PROCLAMATION - 09/21/1999 - PROCLAMATION PROCLAIMING THE MONTH OCTOBER, 1999 A Mayor Citv of Fort Collins PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, more than 57 million working women contribute to the productivity of this nation's workforce, and WHEREAS, the American Business Women's Association was founded September 22, 1949 to recognize the contributions of working women; and WHEREAS, this is the 50th Anniversary year of the American Business Women's Association and the theme is "Changing Women's Lifes One Women at a Time",- and WHEREAS, the American Business Women's Association mission is to bring together business women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition; and WHEREAS, there are more than 90,000 active members in more than 1,600 chapters of this organization throughout the country; and WHEREAS, the Paramount Chapter of theAmerican Business Women's Association will commemorate ABWA's 49th anniversary to honor the contributions of working women within and surrounding Fort Collins and throughout the United States. NOW, THEREFORE,I, Charles Wanner, Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby proclaim September 22, 1999 as AMERICAN B USINESS WOMEN'S DAY in the city of Fort Collins, and urge all members of the community to recognize the contributions of working women within and surrounding Fort Collins and the United States.
