Ad-hoc Benefits Committee Update. (6:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. - 30 minute staff presentation) During the 2004-2005 budget process, Councilmembers expressed concern regarding a number of issues, including the level of employee benefit premiums, the established practice of benchmarking other employers to provide market comparisons for our compensation and benefits programs, the Council-adopted philosophy of setting pay range maximums at the calculated market 70th percentile,among others. The final report findings are now being presented to City Council by Gallagher Benefits Services, Inc. 3. Economic Vitality and Sustainability Action Group Final Report Recommendations and Future Program Direction. (7:15 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. - 15 minute staff presentation) Staff is seeking the following direction from Council: • Does Council wish to direct the City Manager to create and implement an economic vitality and sustainability action plan based upon the information contained in this report? • Does Council wish to propose and adopt additional actions? • If an action plan is developed,what are the key short range items?Key long range items? • Does Council wish to extend or create another "EVSAG" type of panel of Council appointed community members? • Should the role of the Economic Advisor be continued and duties expanded to include that of serving as ombudsman to the business community to assist with economic and community development activities? 4. Parking Amendments to the Traffic Code. (8:15 p.m. -9:15 p.m. -20 minute staff presentation) Parking Services staff intends to bring four Traffic Code amendments to the City Council for adoption in the near future. Staff would like Council direction and feedback on the following questions: • Does the City Council have concerns or issues that need to be addressed prior to bringing these items forward? • Is the City Council ready to consider the recommended code changes at a regular City Council meeting? 5. Other Business. 6. Adioumment.
