SUBJECT:
Second Reading of Ordinance No. 65, 2000,Appropriating Unanticipated Revenue and Prior Year
Reserves in the Transportation Services Fund for the Local and Regional Transportation Demand
Management Programs and the Regional Vanpool Program.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends adoption of the Ordinance on Second Reading.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
These dollars will be used by the Local and Regional Transportation Demand Management
Programs to promote the use of alternative transportation among both city and regional residents.
The dollars contributed by the 410 reserves are from efficiency savings in the 1999 VanGo program
that resulted in surplus revenue. This Ordinance was unanimously adopted on First Reading on June
lip 6, 2000.

This Ordinance appropriates $54,804.90 of unanticipated revenue into the Transportation Services
budget for the Fort Collins Local TDM program($4,436), the regional SMARTTrips Transportation
Demand Management Progr ,, - gio VanGo Vanpool Program

2. To add a database and establish a systematic method of tracking program impact and
effectiveness;
3. To continue expansion of business outreach and public awareness-raising programs
regarding the benefits of using alternative transportation;
4. To maintain existing levels of service in the regional vanpool program in the face of rising
fuel and maintenance costs.
