2. Mason Street Transportation Corridor — Project Update. (6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.)

In October 2000, the Fort Collins' City Council approved the overall Master Plan for the Mason
Street Transportation Corridor (MSTC), including the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) alternative and
the bicycle/pedestrian improvements.
The MSTC is a five and ''/z mile north -south byway within the City of Fort Collins which extends
from Cherry Street on the north to approximately 'h mile south of Harmony Road. The MSTC
for most of its length is situated within the Burlington Northern Santa Fe ROW and is centered
along the railway tracks, located a few hundred feet west of College Avenue (US287).
Staff would like Council's direction and feedback regarding:
• What does Council see as the primary benefits of this project?
• From Council's perspective, what features of the project best convey the image of the
Mason Street Transportation Corridor?
