STUDY SESSION AGENDA
July 23, 2002 6:00 p.m.
1. Call Meeting to Order.
2. Boards and Commissions Periodic Review. (6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.)
At the January 25,2000 Study Session,Council discussed several procedures regarding its boards
and commissions. A portion of the discussion focused on the establishment and scope of a
process to periodically review the purpose and functions of the City's boards and commissions.
At Council's request,staff developed a Periodic Review Process which was adopted on February
20, 2001 by Resolution 2001-26 as a part of the Boards and Commissions Manual. The initial
review dates have been staggered, and, thereafter, each board or commission will be reviewed
every six years after the initial review. The 2002 review includes the following boards and
commissions:
• Retirement Committee
• Zoning Board of Appeals
• Community Development Block Grant Commission
• Landmark Preservation Commission
• Air Quality Advisory Board
3. Discussion and Update on the East Mulberry Corridor Plan. (7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.)
Staff is requesting Council feedback and direction on the following:
• Is Council satisfied with the proposed Framework Plan,reflecting existing and future land
use, street network and open lands patterns? Does the Council have any questions or
comments with any issues associated with this Plan?
• Are the proposed principles and policies for the corridor area consistent with Council's
expectations in establishing direction for Plan implementation?
• Are the proposed implementation strategies and action plan schedule consistent with
Council's expectations for achieving the East Mulberry Corridor Plan?
• Is Council comfortable with the proposed future funding and services assessment?
