STUDY SESSION AGENDA
July 25, 2000 **6:00 p.m.
1. Call Meeting to Order.
2. South Taft Hill Road Improvements—A Building Community Choices Project. (I hour)
The purpose of this item is to provide information to enable City Council to make an informed
decision regarding the design,cost and scheduling of the South Taft Hill Road Improvements at
the August 15 Regular Meeting. The Building Community Choices ballot language requires that
design, cost and schedule be approved by City Council.
3. Growth Management Perspectives. (1 hour)
Councilmember Scott Mason requested an opportunity for members of the community to discuss
with the Council their perspectives on growth management.
After a brief staff introduction,Mark Easter from the Sierra Club will present highlights from its
recent report on sprawl entitled Sprawl Costs Us All.
Kimberly Stenberg, Executive Director of the Northern Colorado Homebuilder's Association,
also has a Smart Growth report outlining its views on this subject.
Councilmembers will have an opportunity to hear their points, question them about their
perspectives, and discuss City Plan growth management policies.
