HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL - SUMMARY AGENDA - 08/14/2001 - STUDY SESSION AGENDA COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS STUDY SESSION AGENDA August 14, 2001 6:00 p.m. 1. Call Meeting to Order. 2. November 2001 Ballot Items for Transportation and Environmental Sales Taxes. (6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.) The purpose of the Study Session is to seek Council direction on placement of funding packages on the November 6 Special Election ballot. At the June 12, 2001 Study Session, Council and staff met to review the 2002-2005 Capital Needs Inventory. Staff presented a list of 35 projects recommended by various boards and commissions and department staff that are of critical importance during the next two budget cycles. The Council Finance Committee reviewed several options for a November ballot issue. The Committee recommended that the full Council consider two packages including a Transportation package with four projects (Timberline, Lemay, Harmony and Mason Street Matching Funds) funded through a quarter-cent sales and use tax increase;and a Natural Resources Enhancement package consisting of two environmental projects (Community Separators and Poudre River Habitat Restoration) funded through a one-tenth cent sales and use tax. 3. Update and Discussion Regarding the Master Plan for the Gardens at Spring Creek (formerly known as the Horticulture Center). (7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) Staff is requesting Council feedback and direction on whether to proceed with the build-out of Phase I of the Gardens at Spring Creek. 4. Other Business. 5. Adjournment.
